Sas Administrator

We are looking for an experienced SAS Viya/ Grid Administrator with expertise in managing and supporting SAS environments on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering SAS 9.4 (M7/M8/ M9), LSF 10, SAS Grid, and SAS Viya 3.5, along with troubleshooting, performance tuning, and user-support skills.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SAS Administrator.
• Expertise with Red Hat Linux commands, shell scripting, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with SAS 9.4 (M7/M8/M9), LSF 10, SAS Grid, and SAS Viya 3.5.
• Strong understanding of SAS architecture, metadata, mid-tier, grid, and CAS server.
• Experience analyzing system/resource utilization for performance tuning.
• Understanding of backend processes and connectivity mechanisms.
• Good understanding of SAS environment variables and configuration files.
• Strong communication and user-interfacing skills.

Key Responsibilities

SAS 9.4 Grid Administration & SAS Viya 3.5 Administration

• Administer and support SAS 9.4 M8/M9 environments.
• Manage configuration files, metadata, logs, and mid-tier components.
• Manage LSF 10 for workload and grid job scheduling.
• Administer SAS Grid platformgrid nodes, queue configurations, job monitoring, and load balancing.
• Maintain SAS Viya 3.5 platform on Linux systems, monitor microservices, CAS server, and environment health.
• Troubleshoot application, user and system issues related to Viya components.
• Understanding of how SAS connects to various data sources (Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, DB2, Dremio, Starburst, GCP, Teradata etc.).
• Manage environment variables and access configurations required for data connectivity.
• Troubleshoot authentication and security-related issues.
• Manage SAS application security, metadata permissions, roles, and access controls.
• Ensure compliance with internal IT/security policies.
• Audit logs and user access patterns.

User Support & Issue Resolution

• Collaborate with end users to troubleshoot issues related to:
• Access Related Issues | SAS application performance | Data connectivity failures
• Bad or long-running processes consuming high resources
• Handle and manage JIRA tasks and ServiceNow incidents raised by users and system teams
• Prioritize, assign, and resolve tickets within SLA timelines.
• Perform root-cause analysis, document solutions, and maintain queue hygiene.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (DBA, Storage, OS, Network, Security) to resolve platform issues.
• Having coding experience will be an added advantage (e.g., SAS programming, Shell scripting, Python, or similar).
