SAT Teacher

We are seeking experienced and engaging SAT Instructors to provide online SAT preparation to high school students based in China. Instruction will include both one-on-one tutoring and small-group classes, delivered remotely through platforms such as Zoom and VooV Meeting (Tencent Meeting).

Position Details

• Position: Online SAT Instructor
• Format: Remote / Online
• Students: High school students in China preparing for the SAT
• Class Type: One-on-one and group instruction
• Compensation: $40–$80 per hour, based on teaching experience, qualifications, and student feedback
• Minimum Commitment: At least 1 hour per week
• Teaching Schedule: Friday and/or Saturday, with classes scheduled between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM
• Teaching Platforms: Zoom, VooV Meeting, or similar online platforms

Responsibilities

The SAT Instructor will:

• Provide high-quality SAT instruction in one-on-one and group settings.
• Teach effective strategies for the SAT Reading and Writing and/or Math sections.
• Explain concepts clearly and adapt instruction to students with different academic backgrounds and skill levels.
• Identify students' strengths and areas for improvement and provide targeted instruction accordingly.
• Help students develop effective test-taking, time-management, and problem-solving strategies.
• Prepare for scheduled lessons and maintain a professional and engaging online classroom environment.
• Provide constructive feedback regarding students' progress and areas requiring additional practice.
• Communicate professionally and reliably regarding scheduling and student needs.

Qualifications

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of the current SAT format, content, and testing strategies.
• Excellent English communication and teaching skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate high school students in an online environment.
• Reliability and availability for at least one hour per week during the designated teaching window.
• Stable internet access and the ability to teach effectively through Zoom, VooV Meeting, or similar platforms.

Prior SAT tutoring, test-preparation, classroom teaching, or other relevant instructional experience is strongly preferred. A strong personal SAT score or demonstrated expertise in SAT Math and/or Reading and Writing is also preferred.

Experience teaching international students, particularly students in China, is a plus but is not required.

Compensation

The hourly teaching rate is $40–$80 per hour. The initial rate will be determined based on the instructor's qualifications and relevant teaching experience. Continued compensation within this range may also reflect teaching performance and student feedback.

Applications will be reviewed initially based on qualifications and experience. Selected candidates will be invited to deliver a 10-minute online demo lesson to demonstrate teaching style, subject knowledge, communication skills, and ability to engage students.

Pay: $40.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 10.0 per week
