We have an immediate opening for an experienced SAW welder operator/FCAW welder in a premier tank manufacturing facility. This role is vital to ensure the resulting product is made to exact specifications as designated by the engineers and meets all quality standards. As such, the following characteristics are a must:

· Experience with basic metal working and metal working tools

· Good attention to detail and a desire to do quality work

· A good work ethic and good attitude

· Open-mindedness to new ideas and design changes

· Ability to take instructions and apply them in a timely manner

· Ability to work well with others

Job Responsibilities

· Safely operate grinders, overhead cranes, rigging, welding machines, and various pneumatic hand tools

· Follow a strict daily schedule of jobs that need completion

· Complete assignments correctly and on time

· Continually maintain a clean working environment

· Use a forklift to position parts and set up the job area

· May perform other duties such as using a punch, metal shears, drill press, band saws, and pipe threader. Training will be provided to use this equipment if needed

Minimum Requirements

· Ability to work 40–48 hours a week and occasional Saturdays

· Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a welder, preferably on pressure vessels

· Must be able to pass a 2G, 3G, and 4G FCAW welding test

· Must be able to pass a SAW operator test

· Must be able to gouge

· Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations

Environment / Physical Requirements

This position is carried out in a welding and metal fabrication environment and, as such, has the following physical work requirements:

· Must be able to lift 100 lbs.

· Must have excellent vision, either naturally or with correction

· Must be able to stand for long periods; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to reach hard-to-access work areas; and use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
