Saw Operator

Hi-Kalibre Equipment is seeking skilled and dedicated Saw Operators to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Saw Operator is responsible for cutting, measuring and documenting raw materials for further machining. This position operates automatic saws.

Hours: 40+/week

Role Responsibilities:

• Operating saws.
• Moving and organizing bars with the help of crane.
• Locating the correct materials that are allocated to a job, loading them on
• the saw and cutting them accurately in accordance with job instructions.
• Safely measuring, numbering, deburring and palletizing cut pieces in
• accordance with job instructions.
• Regular cleaning of the saw bay and saws.
• Performing other production operations that are associated with saws,
• including sectioning or cutting parts.
• Performing periodic raw material inventory counts.
• Trouble shooting discrepancies in raw material inventory.
• Report quality issues through our Non-Conformance Report (NCR) as
• required.
• Perform work in accordance with safety program and procedures, with
• due care and attention for both yourself and your co-workers.
• Meet or exceed allotted cut operation times to ensure that the overall
• production schedule can be met.
• Performing daily maintenance of machines and equipment in accordance
• with preventative maintenance programs.

Role Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A drivers license and a reliable vehicle.
• Mechanical background is preferable.
• Some manufacturing experience and working in the shop environment.
• Able to display always, good aptitude along with the ability to learn and
• retain knowledge of Company’s products and services.
• Self-starter; motivated, task focused, and results driven.

• Good oral and written communication skills.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to sit, and/or stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift and carry equipment.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training is required.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Training is
• required.
• Crane Training is required.
• Forklift Training is required
• HR/HSE Orientation is required.
