Position Overview:

The Equipment (Saw) Operator is responsible for safely operating saw equipment to cut materials according to specifications. This role ensures accuracy, quality, and productivity standards are met while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

• Operate manual and auto saws (e.g., band saw, table saw, panel saw) to cut materials such as foam, plastic, or other packaging materials
• Prepare and operate equipment to cut foam planks into dimensions as defined by instructions
• Measure, mark, and verify material dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and gauges
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and cut sheets
• Adjust saw settings (blade height, angle, feed rate) to ensure precision cuts in accordance with safety standards
• Maintain pre-and-post equipment inspections
• Communicate equipment issues or material defects to supervisor promptly
• Keep equipment and surrounding areas clean and safe
• Assist with Production Worker duties such as assembling packaging products, shrink wrapping pallets, inspecting products, etc. as needed
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Support and comply with all company policies and safety requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Three months + of experience in manufacturing, production or similar industries
• Forklift experience and prior certification preferred
• Ability to read tape measures and perform basic math calculations (fractions, decimals)
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and work orders
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
