We are currently seeking a reliable, dual-skilled Aluminium Saw Operator / Driver to join our team. This role is a vital split between precisely cutting materials in our fabrication shop and delivering finished goods to clients across the UK.

The Role

In this split-capacity position, your time will be divided between operating workshop machinery such as saws and CNC. Whilst being available to operate a commercial delivery vehicle as and when needed during the week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Aluminium Saw Operation: Set up and safely operate industrial saws (such as mitre saws, band saws, or automated upcut saws) to cut aluminium extrusions, profiles, or bars precisely to engineering drawing specifications.
• Quality Inspection: Read and interpret cutting lists, measure materials accurately using callipers and tape measures, and perform quality checks to ensure clean, burr-free finishes.
• Driving & Logistics: Safely operate a company delivery vehicle to transport aluminium products to customers and installation sites.
• Loading/Unloading: Assist with loading long, lightweight, or delicate finished aluminium sections securely to prevent damage during transit and unload safely upon arrival.
• Maintenance & Housekeeping: Keep the machine shop clean, handle scrap aluminium recycling separation, and perform routine basic maintenance on saw blades and cooling systems.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Proven experience operating industrial saws within an aluminium fabrication, glazing, window manufacturing, or general metalwork environment.
• Licence Requirements: A clean, valid driving licence is essential. Experience driving commercial delivery vehicles is required.
• Technical Skills: Strong ability to read cutting lists, use precision measuring tools, and handle aluminium profiles without damaging surface finishes (e.g., anodised or powder-coated surfaces).
• Physical Fitness: The role involves physical work, including lifting, handling long extrusions, and loading vehicles.
• Certification (Desirable): A valid Forklift truck (FLT) licence is highly advantageous. Along with CNC experience.
