Scala Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Backend Engineering & Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services and APIs primarily using Scala (3-4 years of hands-on experience required).
• System Integration & Architecture: Leverage Java and JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge to build full-stack or mixed-technology components, ensuring seamless interoperability across JVM-based ecosystems and web interfaces.
• E-Commerce Feature Delivery: Implement core e-commerce functionalities such as product catalogs, cart and checkout workflows, inventory management, and promotional pricing engines.
• High-Throughput & Scalability Optimization: Architect systems capable of handling high-volume traffic spikes, optimizing latency, and ensuring fault-tolerance during peak retail events.
• Collaboration & Code Quality: Participate in code reviews, write comprehensive unit and integration tests, and collaborate closely with product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers in an Agile environment.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience: 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong, mandatory focus on Scala development (3-4 years must-have).

• Technical Stack:

• Proficiency in Scala and functional programming.

• Solid working experience or familiarity with Java and the JVM ecosystem.

• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript for frontend/full-stack integration.

• Domain Knowledge: Prior work experience or strong exposure to the E-commerce domain is preferred.

• Architecture & Databases: Familiarity with microservices architecture, event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), and working with relational or NoSQL databases.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
