What You'll Do

• Welcome customers and provide outstanding customer service throughout their visit.
• Weigh and grade incoming and outgoing scrap metal loads.
• Direct customers and drivers to the appropriate unloading locations.
• Process purchase transactions and generate accurate scale tickets.
• Answer questions regarding material acceptance, pricing, and company policies.
• Coordinate with production, commercial, and office teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all purchasing transactions.
• Communicate scrap quality requirements and company standards to customers.
• Verify scale accuracy and report equipment issues promptly.
• Support both inbound and outbound scale operations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous scale operator, cashier, dispatch, logistics, customer service, purchasing, warehouse, or industrial office experience
• Scrap metal, recycling, aggregate, construction, trucking, or manufacturing experience is a plus

Work Environment

This role combines office work with interaction throughout an active recycling facility. You'll work directly with customers, drivers, equipment operators, and production employees while helping maintain safe and efficient yard operations.

No two days are exactly the same. You'll be solving problems, assisting customers, and helping keep materials flowing throughout the facility.
