SCENIC CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

Boston College Theatre Department is seeking a part-time SCENIC CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

2026-2027 Academic year appointment (end August -beginning May) 12-29 hours per week as scheduled.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide training, supervision and mentorship for student employees and those enrolled in the Scene Construction/Paint Prep Lab.

· Will oversee, in coordination with the Production Manager, the construction and rigging of scenic elements for Theatre Departments productions.

· Provide instruction in building crafts, technical skills and safety practices.

· Manage the procurement and maintenance of all scenery supplies and equipment and should be able to instruct students in a variety of skills in advanced scenery construction in coordination with the Production Manager.

• Any other tasks as given by the Production Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• College degree OR equivalent and three to five years of related experience.
• Student shop supervision experience preferred.

COMPENSATION:

• $32-35 per hour based on experience. W-2

SCHEDULE:

• Flexible Schedule based on the needs of the theatre.
• 12-29 Hrs. (possibly more) per week for 9 months.
