What they need
TREKKA is a growing Western Australian construction company delivering practical infrastructure solutions to mining and remote projects. We are seeking a capable, hands on Scheduler / Procurement Coordinator to help turn awarded work into well planned, fully resourced and delivery ready projects.
The Role
This is a newly created, broad-based role for someone who enjoys seeing the whole project picture - from the construction program and resource plan through to supplier engagement, purchase orders, freight and delivery to site.
Working closely with our Project Managers, Estimators and Admins, you will coordinate project schedules, procurement and logistics across multiple construction projects. You will keep programs current, identify constraints early and make sure labour, subcontractors, plant and materials are ready when required.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project construction programs and short-term look ahead schedules.
- Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, equipment and project logistics.
- Own and execute project procurement – RFQs, supplier pricing, purchase orders, expediting and delivery tracking.
- Develop procurement schedules aligned with construction programs and required on site dates.
- Identify and manage long-lead items, resource clashes and potential program delays.
- Coordinate mobilisation requirements including freight, materials, plant and subcontractors, including hands on supervision of truck loading.
- Track project progress and update programs against actual site performance.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors and Estimators to ensure projects are planned, organised, procured and ready for execution.
- Assist estimating where required in a small multi-faceted team.
About you
- Experience in scheduling, procurement, project coordination or a similar role within construction, mining or resources industry.
- A practical understanding of construction sequencing, materials, subcontractor coordination and site delivery requirements.
- Strong planning skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
- Confident supplier communication, RFQ evaluation, purchase order administration and delivery follow up skills.
- High attention to detail, sound commercial judgement and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and confidence working with project teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Competence with Microsoft Excel and scheduling/project systems; experience with Buildxact or similar software will be highly regarded.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to contribute beyond a narrow position description.
- WA Drivers Licence essential
