What they need

Scheduler

Griswold Home Care – Raleigh & Apex | Raleigh, NC
Starting salary: $50,000 + Quarterly Bonuses

At Griswold Home Care, a dependable schedule can make a real difference in someone’s day. We’re looking for an organized, compassionate Scheduler to help older adults and their families receive consistent care at home—and help caregivers succeed in the work they do.

Our scheduling approach is simple: build care teams, not just fill shifts. You’ll get to know clients, families, and caregivers so you can make thoughtful matches, keep care consistent, and respond calmly when plans change.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate caregiver schedules for clients across our Raleigh and Apex service areas.
  • Match caregivers to clients based on availability, experience, care needs, skills, preferences, reliability, transportation, and location.
  • Build consistent care teams and arrange backup coverage for ongoing and high-hour cases.
  • Respond to call-outs, open shifts, urgent coverage needs, late arrivals, and schedule changes.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, families, and caregivers about schedules and updates.
  • Monitor scheduling phone lines and update schedules and records in WellSky Personal Care.
  • Use tools such as RedChirp and scheduling automation to support timely outreach and follow-through.
  • Keep caregiver availability and client care details accurate so scheduling decisions support safe, appropriate care.
  • Review coverage and projected hours, balancing client needs, caregiver hours, and overtime.
  • Interview and onboard caregivers, lead orientations, and help new team members learn our scheduling processes.
  • Escalate clinical, safety, financial, or other high-risk concerns to the appropriate team member.

You’ll be a strong fit if you are

  • Highly organized and able to multitask while managing several changing priorities.
  • Able to shift focus quickly when an urgent call-out or coverage need comes up, while keeping other important tasks moving.
  • A clear, thoughtful communicator who can work with clients, families, and caregivers.
  • Calm and solutions-focused when a shift needs coverage quickly.
  • Dependable, responsive, and attentive to details.
  • Compassionate toward older adults and respectful of the people providing their care.
  • Comfortable using computer systems and keeping accurate records.
  • Interested in improving how a team works and taking on more responsibility over time.

Scheduling, staffing, customer service, healthcare, or home-care experience is preferred. We’re also interested in people with strong coordination and communication skills who can learn the work and care about getting it right.

What to expect

This is active, people-centered work. Schedules can change quickly, and some coverage needs are urgent. You’ll work as part of an office team supporting approximately 2,200–2,600 hours of care each week, with a Care Operations Manager and fellow schedulers to coordinate coverage and solve problems.

The position includes one on-call night each week and select holidays. We’ll provide training in our systems, scheduling practices, client and caregiver communication, call-out response, and escalation procedures.

Why Griswold

Your work helps clients receive dependable support at home and helps caregivers find schedules that fit their skills and availability. You’ll be part of a team that values safe care, consistency, strong relationships, and practical problem-solving. This role can also offer a path toward future leadership for someone who wants to grow with the team.
