About the Business

Arethusa College is an independent, co-educational school catering for students requiring an alternative to mainstream schooling. We are accredited as a Special Assistance School with campuses located across South- East Queensland

Arethusa is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting young people through innovative education, youth services, and community programs. Our mission is to create opportunities for young people who may have experienced barriers to education, helping them reconnect, engage, and achieve positive outcomes.

At Arethusa College we Believe, Expect and Celebrate as we see our students move towards achieving their full potential. We Believe in our students; we do not define them by their past experience but rather their future potential and possibilities. We Expect great things of our students; as a result, we raise the bar, we invest and journey with them and we Celebrate our students; because they are absolutely worthy of being celebrated, as they step out of their comfort zones and towards the goals they set for themselves.

The Role

Our Anywhere Learning Team delivers flexible and individualised learning programs that meet young people where they are. Through strong partnerships with families, schools, support services, and communities, we provide tailored educational pathways that support student wellbeing, engagement, and success.

You will work closely with team leaders, educators, students, families, and external stakeholders to ensure learning services are delivered efficiently and effectively. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to changing operational needs.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving scheduling challenges, and be passionate about supporting positive outcomes for young people.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain staff schedules across the Anywhere Learning program.
  • Allocate teaching and support staff to students and learning locations based on program requirements.
  • Coordinate schedule adjustments due to student needs, staff availability, leave requests, and operational changes.
  • Liaise with families to ensure schedules support student engagement and attendance.
  • Monitor staffing capacity and resource utilisation to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensure all scheduling practices comply with organisational policies, industrial awards, and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling records, databases, and reporting documentation.
  • Assist with planning and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling efficiency.
  • Support communication between teams to ensure seamless coordination of learning services across regions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in scheduling, rostering, administration, or coordination roles.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Confidence working with changing schedules and responding to urgent staffing requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Experience working in education, community services, youth services, or not-for-profit organisations will be highly regarded.

Qualifications and Requirements:
