What they need

Are you passionate about supporting students with behavioral needs in their efforts to succeed in a school setting? Ro Health is hiring qualified behavioral aides now!

This role focuses on providing behavioral support in a school setting, specifically leveraging implementation of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), with students ranging in grade levels from pre-K to high school. It is highly beneficial if you have previous experience supporting students with special needs and have worked in a 1:1 or 1:multiple capacity.

Our providers are assigned to cases as either a 1:1 support, or as a general classroom aide.

  • As a 1:1 support: you would be going to each class with your student to provide behavioral and educational support throughout the day. 1:1 supporters are responsible to ensure their student is on task and working towards their behavioral goals.
  • As a general classroom aide: you would be assigned to work with a single teacher or classroom. In this role, providers will support wherever they are needed most by the teacher. Typically every day looks different in this position, and you may be working with several different students throughout your day.

Please be advised that positions generally begin as per-diem, or on-call. The availability of full-time placements is determined by the specific needs and schedules of our partner districts rather than a fixed timeline. Candidates should therefore expect potential waiting periods; during this time, per-diem or on-call work may be offered to support ongoing professional activity.

Why Ro Health

  • Schedules to complement your lifestyle
  • Competitive compensation and weekly paychecks
  • Last Mile Training, a 40-hour program with supervision and support to obtain a RBT certification
  • Administrative and clinical support when you need it most
  • All providers earn PTO and sick time, even when working a per-diem schedule

Overview

  • Location: In-person; school setting
  • Schedule: 8:00am-3:00pm (hours can slightly vary based on school site)
  • Compensation: $18-23 per hour (commensurate with experience/skills)

Responsibilities:

  • Implement applied behavior analysis techniques to support children with special needs, particularly autism, in school settings.
  • Collect and analyze data to track progress and adjust interventions as needed, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
  • Collaborate with school educators and staff to deliver effective support.
  • Provide compassionate student care and individualized support to children with special needs and developmental disabilities.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
  • Potential need to frequently bend, crouch, and lift (up to 40 pounds).

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • CPR Certification (in-person or hybrid course; certifications from online-only courses are not accepted)
  • Negative TB Test (completed within the last year)
  • NY Department of Education Fingerprinting Clearance
  • Reliable transportation and communication
  • Experience in childcare and/or ABA
  • Previous experience working in a school setting preferred
  • Strong assessment skills
  • Passion for supporting students in the learning process
  • Inclination to work well in a team environment

Benefits (eligibility dependent on employment status):

  • Paid time off
  • 401K with employer matching
  • Direct deposit
  • Single point of contact
