School Bus Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and dependable School Bus Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers on scheduled routes, charters, and special events while providing excellent customer service. Your expertise in driving large vehicles, adherence to traffic laws, and commitment to safety will ensure a positive experience for all riders. Responsibilities

• Safely operate school buses, shuttle vehicles, and vehicles in accordance with state transportation laws.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking air brakes, mechanical systems, and overall vehicle condition.
• Follow all traffic laws and defensive driving techniques to navigate various road conditions, including adverse weather scenarios.
• Provide EXCEPTIONAL customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, providing route information, and ensuring a comfortable journey.
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel use, and any incidents or maintenance needs.
• Communicate effectively with passengers and team members using clear language and PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION skills.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean driving record by practicing responsible driving habits.
• Clean busses after each trip to ensure cleanliness for next route

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge of bus systems, air brakes, and general vehicle maintenance.
• Proven experience in bus driving, including motor coach, school bus driving, shuttle driving or delivery driver roles.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and state transportation rules governing commercial driving.
• Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions safely and confidently.
• Excellent communication skills in English to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
• Demonstrated defensive driving skills with a focus on safety at all times.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to handle diverse passenger needs professionally.
