School bus driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and dedicated School Bus Driver to ensure the safe transportation of students to and from school and related activities. The ideal candidate will operate transit buses in accordance with safety regulations, demonstrate excellent passenger safety practices, and have experience working with children. This role requires adherence to transportation safety standards, emergency response procedures, and local driving laws to provide a secure and reliable transportation service for students.please call 516-623/5258 or 516-662-6901

• Safely operate school buses along designated routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of students.
• Comply with all transportation safety regulations and state and local commercial driving laws.
• Maintain a safe environment for passengers by following passenger safety protocols at all times.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Follow emergency response procedures for transportation to handle unexpected situations effectively.
• Assist students as needed, particularly those with special needs or requiring additional support.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and any incidents that occur during transit.
• Foster a positive and respectful environment for students while ensuring their safety during transit.

Experience

• Prior experience operating transit or school buses is preferred.
• Experience working with children is highly desirable to ensure effective communication and understanding of student needs.
• Knowledge of transportation safety regulations, including passenger safety standards and emergency response procedures, is essential.
• Familiarity with state and local commercial driving laws related to passenger transportation will be advantageous.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently, ensuring the safety of all passengers.

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
