School Bus Driver

About the role

EVO Transport Services is seeking a reliable and professional School Bus Driver to join our team in the Central Region. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and punctual transport of students to and from school. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for operating a passenger vehicle, maintaining the highest safety standards, and providing a secure, welcoming environment for young passengers. This position is essential to our commitment to delivering dependable transport services within the education sector.

Key responsibilities

• Operating a school bus safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic regulations and speed limits
• Conducting pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe, roadworthy condition
• Transporting students to and from school, following designated routes and schedules
• Monitoring passenger behaviour and maintaining discipline on the bus to ensure a safe environment
• Assisting students with boarding and alighting from the vehicle, with particular attention to younger or vulnerable passengers
• Maintaining accurate records of routes, timekeeping, and any incidents or concerns
• Communicating effectively with school staff, parents, and management regarding transport matters
• Performing routine vehicle maintenance tasks and reporting any mechanical issues promptly
• Adhering to safeguarding policies and child protection procedures at all times

What we're looking for

• A valid BDVL driving licence with a clean driving record

• professional driving experience, preferably in passenger transport

• Knowledge of child safeguarding principles and commitment to duty of care

• Excellent time management and reliability, with the ability to maintain consistent punctuality

• Strong communication skills and a patient, calm demeanor when working with young people

• Physical fitness and ability to perform vehicle safety checks and assist passengers as required

• A proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and cleanliness standards

• Ability to work early mornings and school term schedules
