Under the direction of the Supervisor, Transportation, drives a school bus to transport students safely and efficiently to an assigned location on a designated route; assures safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses; performs regular safety inspections.

Dual-Merged (2627-01) An examination will be given to establish an eligibility list for the position of School Bus Driver in order to fill current and future vacancies. The eligibility list will be effective for one year. These positions are 5-6 hours/day (split shift) during the school year; 206 paid days. Applications will be accepted on a continual basis. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of an application; however, applicants may submit resumes along with the completed online application. YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED INCOMPLETE WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING ATTACHMENTS: California School Bus Driver's Certificate Valid California Class B Driver License with P/S endorsements. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency. Medical Examiner's Certificate K-4 report (issued within last 30 days - online documents are not considered official and will not be accepted) All completed application materials will be reviewed to determine if each applicant meets the stated qualifications for the position. Applicants should take note that possession of the stated qualifications is not necessarily a guarantee of further advancement in the hiring process. Based upon the information provided in the application materials, the most qualified applicants will be invited to a written merit exam. LOCATION: La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, Education Service Center, 4750 Date Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942 (Phone: 619-668-5700) An eligibility list is then established by ranking candidates according to their overall score in the examination process. The eligibility list generally remains valid for up to one year and appointments are made from this list to fill all vacant positions in that classification.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent GED and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Successful passage of the District's job-related proficiency test. California School Bus Driver's Certificate Valid California Class B Driver License with P/S endorsements. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.
