School Cleaner

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the school premises are spotless, hygienic, and well-organized. Your efforts will directly contribute to a positive learning atmosphere by creating a tidy and sanitary space. Monday - Friday 2.30-5pm, £15 per hour.

This role is initially on a temporary basis for up to 4 weeks, however there is the potential for a further permanent role within the local area.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
• Ensure all surfaces are sanitized regularly to promote health and safety standards
• Empty waste bins and dispose of waste responsibly throughout the school premises
• Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and notify management when stock needs replenishing
• Follow established health and safety protocols during all cleaning activities
• Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning routines to the appropriate personnel
• Adhere to scheduled cleaning routines to ensure consistent cleanliness across all areas

Requirements

• Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is highly desirable
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow safety procedures diligently
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment operation is a plus
• Enthusiastic attitude with a proactive approach to maintaining a hygienic environment

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.5 per week
