Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School-based Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services to students across various age groups, including early intervention and school-aged populations. Your expertise will help children overcome communication challenges, improve their social interactions, and succeed academically. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create tailored therapy plans that foster meaningful progress. You will utilize your knowledge of pediatrics, speech therapy techniques, and physiology to deliver impactful interventions in both in-person and telehealth settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough speech and language assessments for students with diverse communication needs, including those with speech impairments and disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language therapy plans aligned with each student’s unique goals and needs.
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based techniques for pediatric populations, including early intervention strategies.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive support for students’ communication development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care plans and share insights on student progress.
- Provide telehealth therapy sessions when necessary, adapting approaches for remote delivery while maintaining high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist with experience working in school settings or pediatric environments.
- Strong knowledge of speech-language pathology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to communication disorders.
- Proven experience working with children with speech impairments, disabilities, or developmental delays such as early intervention populations.
- Familiarity with comprehensive speech and language evaluations and the ability to interpret assessment results accurately.
- Experience implementing speech-language therapy plans across diverse settings including schools and telehealth platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with parents about therapy goals and progress.
- Knowledge of working with geriatric patients is a plus but not required; a focus on pediatric populations is essential.
