Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing custodial duties that ensure the school's facilities are well-maintained, sanitized, and inviting. Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, breakrooms, and other school areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and maintaining proper storage of cleaning supplies.
• Operate floor buffers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and other custodial equipment to ensure floors are spotless and well-maintained.
• Conduct routine sanitation tasks such as trash removal, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces to promote a healthy environment.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and ensure workplace safety.
• Support overall facilities maintenance by inspecting for hazards, reporting issues promptly, and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the school premises.

Experience

• Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a school, commercial building, or industrial setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and industrial cleaning tools is advantageous.
• Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures ensures safe use of cleaning supplies at all times.
• Experience with heavy lifting and safe lifting practices is necessary to handle supplies and equipment efficiently.
• Customer service skills are valuable for interacting professionally with staff, students, visitors, and vendors while maintaining a positive attitude.
