School Custodian Needed

A full time custodial position is available in the Prentice School District. This position will start immediately. Responsibilities of the position include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuum cleaning, emptying and cleaning waste baskets and waste receptacles, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, cleaning and sanitizing desks and work areas, and other duties within the work area as assigned by management. This position also requires the ability to be an emergency bus driver. A CDL with passenger endorsement training will be included. The additional responsibility provides extra compensation.

Essential job functions include but are not limited to cleaning and maintaining all areas of the school: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, cleaning windows, dusting, and polishing floors.

Summer custodial duties include paints, washes walls, polishes, arranges, and moves furniture and equipment. Disinfects and sanitizes all building areas as needed. Vacuums and shampoos carpeting.

The ability to operate and maintain all custodial cleaning equipment, cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies, removal of garbage and wastepaper is necessary. Occasional duties required are: setting up equipment, chairs, risers, choral equipment, and bleachers for school and public events.

Attention to cleaning detail, an ability to cooperatively work with others in the workplace, and knowledge of and an ability to carry out effective sanitizing and cleaning protocol are necessary to the job.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
