• $15.00 an hour
• $16.00 an hour for qualifying wheelchair assignments
• Part-time. Typically 25 to 30 hours per week, approximately 5 to 6 working hours per day
• Split-shift schedule with a minimum of 2.5 paid hours per scheduled shift
• Monday through Friday, no weekend work
• Year-round operation
• Transporting students for Southeast Delco, Rose Tree and local after-school programs

What the job involves

You will operate a 15-passenger non-CDL vehicle on an assigned route, transporting students safely to and from school and after-school programs.

In addition to driving, you will be responsible for operating the vehicle safely, staying on schedule, completing required vehicle checks, maintaining a safe environment for students and interacting professionally with students, families and site staff.

Some routes support after-school programs serving students with autism.

Your day

This is a part-time split-shift position. Typical route windows are approximately:

• First route: 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 or 4:30 p.m.
• Second route: approximately 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. through 8:00 or 8:30 p.m.

Actual start and end times may vary depending on the assigned route and program.

Employees receive a minimum of 2.5 paid hours for each scheduled shift. Most drivers work approximately 25 to 30 hours per week.

Routes operate Monday through Friday. There is no regularly scheduled weekend work, and the operation continues throughout the year.

What you need

• A valid driver's license
• An acceptable driving record
• To be 21 years of age or older
• To be dependable and able to report on time for assigned routes
• To be comfortable transporting and interacting with students
• To successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings and clearances

No CDL is required, and previous professional driving experience is not required.

What happens after you apply

Because this position involves transporting students, candidates must complete required screening, clearances and training before beginning an assigned route.

• Fingerprinting
• A DOT physical
• Pre-employment drug screening
• Orientation and training before beginning your route

The clearance process typically takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks, depending on processing times. Orientation and training generally take approximately 5 to 7 days.

There are no candidate out-of-pocket costs for required licensing or testing handled through the company.
