School Librarian

About the role

ACMAR International School is seeking a responsible, organised, and enthusiastic school librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school's library resources, maintaining an organised and welcoming learning environment, and supporting students and teachers in accessing educational materials.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the school's library resources and maintain an organised and welcoming learning environment
• Support students and teachers in accessing educational materials
• Catalogue and organise books
• Manage borrowing and return records
• Assist students with research and reading activities
• Ensure that library resources are properly maintained
• Support reading programmes and library activities to encourage students to develop positive reading habits and independent learning skills

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Management, Education, or a related field
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience in library management or a similar role
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with students and teachers
• Ability to manage library resources, maintain catalogues, and oversee book borrowing and return procedures
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital library systems would be an advantage
• Responsible, patient, and proactive attitude
• Passion for reading, education, and supporting students' learning and development
