School Minibus Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Minibus Driver to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school. This vital role involves operating school vehicles with professionalism, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and fostering positive communication with students, staff, and parents. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety, creating a secure environment for all passengers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the school minibus along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and schedules.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety equipment functionality.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents regarding pick-up and drop-off arrangements.
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance records.
• Assist students with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Report any vehicle issues or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel for maintenance or repairs.
• Follow all traffic regulations and company policies to uphold the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driving license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a van driver or delivery driver, preferably in a school or similar setting.
• Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.
• Strong communication skills in English for effective interaction with students, staff, and parents.
• Knowledge of local traffic laws and safe driving practices.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive during long periods of driving.
• Prior experience working with children or in an educational environment is a plus.

Pay: £12.71-£12.80 per hour
