School Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to provide comprehensive healthcare services within our educational environment. Duties

• Assess student health concerns through thorough patient evaluations, vital signs measurement, and medical history review.
• Administer medications, injections, and treatments following established protocols and state regulations.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies, utilizing CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Communicate clearly with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student health issues and care plans.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) through the State Board of Nursing with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid.
• Proven experience in pediatric healthcare settings such as school clinics, outpatient clinics, or emergency rooms.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and health regulations compliance including HIPAA standards.
• Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion, medication administration, and other clinical procedures confidently.
• Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to respond effectively in acute care situations involving children or adolescents.
• Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols such as CPR/AED operation and acute care procedures.
• Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics (if applicable), or patients requiring complex care like PICU or trauma center experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for parent interaction and interprofessional collaboration within a school environment.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 40.0 per week
