School Site Security - Split Shift

About the role

Top Marks for Security Services provides mobile security response across North West England. We're looking for a dependable School Site Security Officer to open and lock up a school site in Blackburn (covering nursery, infant and junior buildings) each weekday, and lock up a second school nearby in the evening, keeping the site safe and secure for pupils and staff.

Hours

· Opening: 05:30 to 07:30

· Closing: 15:45 to 19:00, including a second school lock-up in Blackburn (BB3 1HZ) between 18:00 and 19:00

· Monday to Friday, on school opening dates

· Extra hours may be available on request for litter picking and gritting

Key responsibilities

· Open the site each morning (full training will be given)

· Lock and secure all windows and external doors, including hazardous areas such as the kitchen

· Draw blinds, curtains and metal security guards in offices and classrooms

· Clear waste from corridors and dispose of it

· Switch off non-essential electrical equipment

· Check that nobody is left on site

· Carry out the weekly fire alarm and checkpoint test and record it in the fire log

· Prepare the bins for refuse collection

· Move furniture, help with large deliveries and do minor repairs

Requirements

· Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor licence

· Enhanced DBS check for working with children

· Able to pass BS 7858 security screening

· Full UK driving licence or own transport

· Able to do some manual handling
