Science and English Tutors

Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Tutors (with QTS) to provide personalised academic support to students in GCSE/A Level English and Science.

The successful candidates will assist learners in developing their understanding, confidence, and skills through engaging and tailored tutoring sessions. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ educational journeys while fostering a love for learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in designated subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs
• Assess students’ strengths and areas for improvement, developing customised lesson plans accordingly
• Support students with homework, exam preparation, and study techniques to enhance their academic performance
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
• Track and record student progress, providing feedback to parents or guardians as required
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of curriculum changes and educational best practices
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive support system

Skills

• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching across Science or English
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
• Experience working with children and understanding of diverse learning styles
• Knowledge of special education needs and inclusive teaching strategies is desirable
• Organised with excellent time management skills to plan sessions effectively
• Passionate about education and committed to supporting student development

Pay: £16.81-£30.00 per hour
