Science Teacher

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum and Cambridge syllabus requirements.
• Teach Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics based on subject specialisation, qualifications, and departmental needs.
• Explain scientific concepts clearly and adapt teaching strategies to cater to students of different abilities and learning needs.
• Incorporate practical experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts.
• Integrate appropriate educational technology and digital learning tools to support teaching and learning.
• Prepare assignments, quizzes, practical assessments, examinations, and other learning materials.
• Monitor, assess, and evaluate students' academic progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for Cambridge examinations, including IGCSE Science subjects where applicable.
• Identify students who require additional support and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
• Maintain discipline and encourage active student participation during lessons and practical sessions.
• Promote scientific curiosity, independent thinking, collaboration, and responsible learning habits.
• Conduct practical lessons in accordance with laboratory safety procedures and school policies.
• Ensure the proper use, handling, storage, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and scientific materials.
• Supervise students closely during experiments and practical activities.
• Report any damaged equipment, safety concerns, or laboratory incidents to the relevant personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment results, student progress, and other required documentation.
• Communicate professionally with parents, colleagues, and school management regarding students' academic progress and learning needs.
• Undertake other reasonable duties assigned by the HOD or school management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science Education or a relevant scientific discipline, such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification or relevant teaching experience is preferred.
• Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum, particularly IGCSE Science subjects, will be an advantage.
• Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
• Good classroom management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prepare effective lesson plans, assessments, and teaching materials.
• Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning platforms.
• A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach to teaching and professional development.

Pay: From RM3,000.00 per month
