Hope Christian Academy | Lexington, KY | Full-Time

Hope Christian Academy seeks a dedicated Christian teacher to provide engaging, Christ-centered science instruction using BJU Press curriculum.

Courses: Grade 6 - General Science; Grade 7 - Life Science; Grade 8 - Earth Science; Grade 9 - Physics.

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging lessons, hands-on activities, and safe laboratory experiences.
• Assess learning, provide timely feedback, and support students with varying needs.
• Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom and accurate attendance and grade records.
• Lead daily devotions and teach Christian Studies.
• Communicate professionally with families and collaborate with staff.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications

• Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with biblical principles.
• Agreement with HCA’s statement of faith and mission.
• Strong science knowledge, communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• A heart for students and a commitment to partnering with families.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress, teaching experience, and familiarity with BJU Press or similar Christian curricula.

Professional Expectations

Staff model Christlike character, integrity, confidentiality, and teamwork. Modest, professional dress is required: no visible tattoos or jewelry; natural, modest makeup; skirts or dresses for women; pants with collared shirts or polos for men.
