Science Tutor

Beyond Education Tutoring – Urmston, Manchester

Beyond Education is an Ofsted-regulated tutoring company based in Urmston, Manchester. We support children aged 4–16 with English, maths, science and school entrance exams. All tuition is delivered face-to-face at our centre in Urmston.

We are looking for a Science Tutor to join our team, with a particular passion for supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils.

Hours

Monday: 1pm–8pm

There is also the opportunity for additional days and hours, depending on availability and demand.

Essential

• Able to pass an enhanced DBS check
• Able to work independently, use initiative and work well as part of a team
• GCSE Science at Grade 8 or above
• At least one Science subject studied to A Level
• Good knowledge of the GCSE Science curriculum

Desirable

• DBS on the Update Service
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching the GCSE Science curriculum
• Knowledge and experience of the A Level Science curriculum
• Flexible and reliable
• Availability to teach Monday 1pm–8pm

The role

Successful candidates will:

• Teach pupils in Years 7–11 on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Plan effectively for sessions and ensure appropriate resources are prepared
• Monitor and support students' progress
• Liaise with colleagues and parents regarding students' learning and progress
