SCL Site Counselor

As a SCL Site Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding individuals. You will provide compassionate mission-driven support to members of all ages, helping them navigate challenges and empower them to achieve their highest level of independence.

What you’ll do

• Implement crisis intervention strategies to support members and manage crises effectively.
• Support 3-5 members with living skills in their home. (including cooking, cleaning, chores, medication pass, other activities.)
• Support and encourage community integration (sports events, grocery shopping, movie theatre, town celebrations, etc.)
• Follow individual supports plan to individual needs.
• Maintain accurate service documentation on interactions and progress of member goals, while remaining in compliance with governing rules and regulations.

Basic qualification

• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
• Must be willing to undergo a background check
• Must have a valid State of Iowa driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain a Class D Chauffeurs license upon hire.
• Must have proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or other related field experience.
• Knowledge of services.

• Hours are this position are M-F from 3 pm to 11 pm and every other weekend and holiday from 8 am to 8 pm or 8 pm to 8 am.
