Scrap Metal Inspector/Labourer

Radius Recycling is looking for motivated Graders/Sorters to help keep our operations running efficiently by identifying, sorting, and preparing recyclable metal materials for processing.

What You'll Do

As a Grader/Sorter, you'll play an important role in our recycling operations by:

✅ Inspecting, grading, and sorting incoming scrap metal based on quality and material type

✅ Removing debris and preparing materials for processing

✅ Performing general yard cleanup and maintenance duties

✅ Assisting with greasing, cleaning, and upkeep of operational equipment including the shear and shredder

✅ Supporting railroad maintenance, repairs, and other facility improvement projects

✅ Assisting various departments throughout the yard as needed

✅ Reporting equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly

✅ Contributing to a clean, safe, and productive work environment

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic English communication skills
• Willingness to learn new tasks and work as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a scrap yard, recycling facility, construction, warehouse, manufacturing, or other industrial environment

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position. Candidates must be able to:

• Frequently walk on uneven surfaces
• Bend, crouch, twist, reach, climb, push, and pull
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
• Perform detailed visual inspections of materials
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
