Scrum Master

Mission Context

For one of our key clients in the financial sector in Brussels (Belgium), we are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join a cross-functional Agile squad.

The Scrum Master is the key reference within the team and ensures the correct understanding and application of the Scrum framework. He/she supports the team in maximizing value delivery and ensures the proper implementation of Agile principles. The Scrum Master protects the team from internal and external disruptions and promotes a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Acting as a servant leader, the Scrum Master coaches the squad, business lines, and stakeholders, guiding them on effective Agile interactions and helping the team progressively increase its level of self-organization.

Mission Responsibilities

1. Project Follow-up & Delivery

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies:

  • Daily Stand-ups

  • Sprint Planning

  • Sprint Reviews

  • Retrospectives

• Plan and monitor key Agile milestones

• Support the Product Owner in managing and refining the Product Backlog

• Ensure backlog consistency and quality in Jira

• Track team capacity and velocity metrics

• Support delivery of Sprint Backlog and Definition of Done (DoD)

• Identify and manage risks and issues

• Remove impediments impacting team performance

2. Agile Governance & Coaching

• Ensure proper use and application of Scrum methodology

• Promote Agile mindset and best practices

• Coach the team toward greater autonomy and accountability

• Foster collaboration across all disciplines (analysis, development, testing, etc.)

• Protect the team from external distractions

• Encourage continuous improvement and a feedback culture

3. Stakeholder Management

• Act as a facilitator between the squad and business stakeholders

• Guide stakeholders on constructive and effective Agile interactions

• Ensure alignment between delivery objectives and IT strategy

• Promote knowledge sharing and best practices

Profile Required

Education

• Master’s degree or equivalent through experience

• Scrum Master Certification (mandatory)

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Scrum Master

• Strong coaching experience

• Experience in the financial or banking sector is a strong asset

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

• Expert knowledge of Agile methodology and Scrum framework

• Strong Agile mindset

• Experience with Agile reporting and tracking tools (e.g., Jira)

• Good understanding of:

  • Automated unit testing

  • Automated functional testing

  • Continuous Integration tools

• Solid knowledge of:

  • Software development methodologies

  • Project management methodologies
