Scrum Master

Role overview

The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile delivery across cross-functional teams, ensuring effective adoption of Scrum principles, Agile practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and delivery teams to drive predictable sprint execution, remove impediments, improve team performance, and enable successful delivery of business outcomes. The Scrum Master serves as a coach, facilitator, and servant leader, fostering collaboration, transparency, accountability, and stakeholder alignment while promoting Agile best practices across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
• Coach teams on Agile values, Scrum principles, and continuous improvement practices.
• Support Product Owners in backlog management, prioritization, user story development, and sprint planning activities.
• Remove impediments and proactively manage dependencies, risks, and delivery blockers.
• Drive collaboration across business, technology, QA, and stakeholder groups to ensure delivery alignment.
• Monitor sprint progress, team capacity, velocity, and Agile performance metrics to improve delivery predictability.
• Establish transparent reporting mechanisms for stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and foster a positive, high-performing team environment.
• Coordinate release planning, UAT support activities, and project tracking initiatives.
• Promote Agile maturity, knowledge sharing, documentation standards, and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor s degree in engineering, Technology, Business, or related discipline. MBA preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience in Agile project delivery, Scrum Master, or Agile coordination roles.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
• Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in backlog management, sprint planning, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release management.
• Proficiency with Agile and project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, and reporting dashboards.
• Experience tracking Agile metrics including velocity, burndown charts, burnup charts, cycle time, lead time, sprint predictability, and capacity planning.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to drive collaboration, continuous improvement, delivery excellence, and organizational Agile maturity.
