Scuba Instructor

We're looking for an enthusiastic, dependable team member to join our staff as a Full-Time Retail Associate & Scuba Instructor. This is a hands-on role that combines retail sales, customer service, equipment support, and scuba instruction. Every day is different—you might be helping customers find the perfect gear, filling tanks, teaching a certification class, or assisting with local dive trips.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide exceptional customer service in our retail store.
• Help customers select scuba, snorkeling, and water sports equipment.
• Process sales and maintain an organized, clean retail environment.
• Assist with receiving and stocking inventory.
• Teach scuba certification and continuing education courses.
• Conduct confined water and open water training sessions.
• Support local dive trips, charters, and special events.
• Help with basic equipment handling and general shop operations.
• Promote dive travel, classes, and store events.
• Assist customers with equipment rentals
• Clean and maintain rental equipment from customer returns and class use
• Fill air and nitrox tanks
• Stay up to date on product knowledge of current and new inventory
• Guide dives/ mate for charter boat

Skills

• Excellent people skill. Must enjoy talking and interacting with people.
• Understanding of the retail sales process
• Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
• Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
• Basic math skills
• Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
• Flexibility to work various shifts

Qualifications

• Current/ Active Status scuba instructor certification (PADI, SSI, SDI/TDI, NAUI, or equivalent).
• Current CPR/First Aid/Oxygen Provider certifications (or willingness to renew).
• Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Comfortable working weekends and some evenings.
• Ability to lift and move scuba equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
• Retail or sales experience is a plus, but we're happy to train the right person.
• Must be legally able to work in U.S
• Current driver’s license and own transportation

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Experience:

• Divemaster or Instructor: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Scuba Instructor or Divemaster certification (Preferred)
