SDE - 3 (Backend)

Job Summary

FNP is looking for an experienced SDE - 3 to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems for a fast-growing digital business. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with modern backend technologies, distributed systems, high-performance architectures, and a product-oriented engineering mindset.

Responsibilities

• Backend Engineering: Design and develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems for high-scale digital applications.
• Performance Scalability: Build high-performance systems with strong understanding of concurrency, memory optimization, and performance tuning.
• Database Engineering: Design and optimize data solutions using NoSQL systems such as MongoDB and DynamoDB, along with relational databases where appropriate.
• Event-Driven Systems: Build event-driven and real-time systems using technologies such as Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar platforms.
• Search Systems: Work with Elasticsearch or Apache Solr to build fast, intelligent, and relevant product discovery experiences.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Work with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or similar providers to build scalable production systems.
• System Reliability: Follow secure coding practices and contribute to API protection, rate limiting, caching, and platform reliability.
• Product Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to align engineering solutions with business and customer outcomes.
• Technical Ownership: Take ownership of engineering outcomes and contribute to improving launch velocity, conversion, customer experience, and platform performance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building scalable systems for e-commerce, fintech, gaming, or other high-scale consumer technology environments is preferred.
• Strong product intuition and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Strong ownership and builder mindset.

Core Engineering Skills

• Proficiency in modern backend languages such as Go, Java, or Node.js.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, memory optimization, and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, and relational databases.
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar event-driven technologies.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch or Apache Solr.

Good to Have

• Experience with React.js, Angular, or similar frontend technologies.
• Familiarity with Next.js, Gatsby, or similar SSR/SSG frameworks.
• Experience with React Native, Flutter, or native mobile development.
• Production experience with GCP, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of CDNs and caching strategies.
• Exposure to AI/ML tooling, recommendation engines, or personalization frameworks.
