SDK Developer – Android

About the Role

Most mobile developers spend their careers building apps that sit on top of the platform. Here, you go one layer deeper. You’ll work directly on the SDK that powers Jio’s AI-enabled wearables — the code that bridges a native mobile app to real hardware. It’s a rare opportunity for a mobile developer to get hands-on with device communication, firmware interaction, and platform engineering in a product that’s shipping to real users.

You don’t need SDK experience to join — strong native Android and/or iOS skills are enough. We’ll help you grow into the rest.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Build and maintain features in the Native Android and/or iOS SDK — clean, testable, production-grade code that other teams depend on.
2. Work on the protocol layer connecting the SDK to Jio AI enabled wearables — a close collaboration between software and hardware.
3. Write unit and integration tests; contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release verification.
4. Debug issues that span multiple layers — app, SDK, and device — and contribute to root-cause analysis.
5. Collaborate with Engineering, QA, and Delivery on feature commits, code reviews, and sprint goals.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong native Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift) — whichever is your primary platform, that’s your major.
• Openness to picking up the other platform over time as your minor — we pair people deliberately to make this happen.
• Curiosity about how software talks to hardware; Bluetooth protocol experience is a bonus, not a requirement.

Nice to Have

• Any exposure to SDKs, shared libraries, or framework development.
• Familiarity with React Native or hardware-paired companion apps.
