Sea Freight Manager

About the role

KEX Express (Thailand) Public Company Limited is seeking an experienced Sea Freight Manager to join our operations team in Pathum Wan, Bangkok. This is a full-time position that plays a strategic role in managing and optimizing our sea freight operations. As Sea Freight Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth execution of sea freight shipments, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving operational efficiency across our freight forwarding services. Key responsibilities

Ocean Freight Business Development

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in ocean freight and international logistics.
• Maintain existing customer relationships while developing potential new customers and building long-term partnerships.
• Understand customers’ transportation requirements and provide suitable ocean freight logistics solutions.

Ocean Freight Operations

• Provide professional expertise and business support for Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) ocean freight operations.
• Be familiar with the end-to-end ocean freight process, including booking, shipping instructions, Bills of Lading (House B/L – HBL and Master B/L – MBL), sailing schedules, ETD/ETA, transshipment arrangements, port operations, and container coordination.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, ports, and other logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
• Work closely with internal operations teams to ensure the successful execution of shipments.
• Handle operational exceptions and customer escalations/complaints in a timely manner.

Customer Relationship Management

• Serve as the key point of contact for customers’ ocean freight business.

• Understand customers’ shipment volumes, trade lanes, and overall logistics Requirements.

• Provide professional recommendations on transportation solutions, route selection, and service options.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in ocean freight, freight forwarding, shipping, or international logistics.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in FCL, LCL, and end-to-end international ocean freight operations.
• Proven practical experience in ocean freight sales, business development, or commercial roles.
• Established industry network and resources, with experience working with shipping lines, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, overseas agents, or direct corporate customers.
• Excellent communication skills in English or Chinese; proficiency in all three languages (Thai, English, and Chinese) will be considered a strong advantage.
