About the role

Royal Cargo (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seafreight Import Operations specialist to join our dynamic team in Huay Khwang, Bangkok. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in managing and coordinating our sea freight import operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire import process, from documentation and customs clearance to cargo handling and delivery coordination. This position is integral to ensuring smooth, efficient and compliant operations, directly impacting our clients' satisfaction and the company's operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

1. Coordinate and manage all aspects of seafreight import shipments, including documentation preparation, bill of lading processing and customs compliance
2. Liaise with customs brokers, shipping lines and transport providers to ensure timely clearance and delivery of cargo
3. Prepare and review import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and other required regulatory documents
4. Monitor shipment status and track cargo movements throughout the import process
5. Manage customs declarations and ensure full compliance with Thai import regulations and international trade requirements
6. Coordinate warehouse operations and arrange for cargo inspection, consolidation and final delivery to clients
7. Handle customer inquiries regarding shipment status and provide timely updates
8. Manage and maintain accurate records of all import transactions and documentation
9. Identify and resolve operational issues and discrepancies that may arise during the import process
10. Work collaboratively with internal teams including finance, warehouse and sales to ensure seamless operations

What we're looking for

1. 3-5 years of experience in seafreight import operations or customs brokerage
2. Strong knowledge of Thai customs regulations, import procedures and international trade compliance requirements
3. Proficiency with shipping and logistics software systems, bill of lading platforms and import documentation tools
4. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously
5. Detailed attention to accuracy, particularly when preparing and verifying import documentation
6. Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with external partners and internal stakeholders
7. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within established procedures
8. Fluency in English and Thai, both written and verbal; additional language skills are advantageous
9. Familiarity with HS codes, tariff classifications and duties and taxes calculations is preferred
10. Knowledge of international incoterms and commercial practices in sea freight is beneficial
