Seam Welder Operator

SEAM WELDER OPERATOR Shift: 1st, M-Th, 6am to 3:30pm, Fri 6am to 10am, plus overtime as needed. Build a Career with Checon! Manufacturing experience is a plus, but it's not required for all positions. Overview The Seam Welder will be responsible for operating welding machines that join or bond metal components in a continuous seam. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, safety procedures, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality and precise welds in production. Key Responsibilities

• Seam Welding of precious metal alloys to copper or brass base metal
• Welding will be in coil form, requiring daily movement of coils
• Material is placed onto a payoff, hand fed into a welding guide, top and bottom electrodes are activated and machine runs continuously with operator monitoring for dimensions specified on the strip print.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure consistent product quality
• Inspect finished product
• Base metal trimming
• Form rolling toplay bonded material
• Rolling of base metal alloys
• Brushing
• Loading/unloading furnaces
• Material handling manually lifting up to 35 lbs and use of crown lift trucks to move around coils weighing up to 1,500 lbs
• Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents and near misses.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Manufacturing/Production experience of 2+ years is a plus
• Ability to read process sheets and prints and work with close tolerances
• Knowledge of using verniers, calipers and micrometers
• Working with quality control and data collection

Physical Requirements/Safety :

• Lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to use material handling equipment with a 1,500 lb load
• Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents and near misses.
