Seamstress / Patternmaker

BeachCult is a Cape Town-based luxury swimwear and resortwear label, known for bold prints by South African artists. We produce handmade pieces with local artisans using sustainable and recycled fabrics. We're hiring a skilled seamstress to join our studio at the V&A Waterfront.

Responsibilities

• Draft and grade patterns for swimwear and resortwear
• Construct samples and toiles from concept through to final fit
• Operate industrial sewing machines (overlocker, coverstitch, flatlock)
• Sew garments to a high standard of finish, including stretch and technical fabrics
• Work with the design team to bring prints and silhouettes to life
• Support studio workflow from cutting through to quality control

Requirements

• Proven experience in patternmaking and garment construction
• Confident, hands-on experience with industrial sewing machines
• Experience with swimwear, activewear, or stretch fabrics preferred
• Strong attention to detail and finish
• Comfortable working independently in a small studio team

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
