Experienced Seamstress (Casual) and Store Manager (Full-Time) – Upmarket Alterations Studio, New Farm, Brisbane

Location: New Farm, Brisbane Studio: An upmarket outlet offering comprehensive clothing alterations, including general alterations, suit alterations, formal/wedding dress alterations, and leather alterations.

Roles available:

Seamstress – Casual (5+ years experience)

• Responsibilities:

  • Pinning and alterations of various garments (general, suits, formal/wedding dresses, leather)
  • Working precisely and efficiently to our standards
  • Interacting with customers in a polite, professional manner
  • Ensuring accurate measurements and documentation
  • Maintaining a clean, organized workstation and minimal fabric waste

• Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years in the garment alterations industry (preferably in upmarket or professional settings)
  • Advanced sewing and finishing skills; strong hands-on alteration capability
  • Ability to work independently without on-the-job training
  • Fluent English (verbal and written)
  • Excellent attention to detail and time-management

Store Manager – Full-Time (5+ years experience)

• Responsibilities:

  • Oversee shop operations, scheduling, inventory, and customer service
  • Supervise seamstress(s) and ensure high-quality alterations and turnaround times
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training where appropriate
  • Engage with customers, quote work, and ensure a premium service standard
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, safety, and compliance

• Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years in the garment alterations industry (preferably in upmarket or professional settings)
  • Advanced sewing and finishing skills; strong hands-on alteration capability
  • Experience in retail/alterations management or similar leadership role
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex alterations workflows and deadlines
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Customer-service oriented with professional presentation

• Employment type: Full-Time

• Remuneration: $40/hr plus super with 4 weeks paid leave.
