Second Grade Teacher

Position Title: Second Grade Teacher School: St. Marys Catholic School (PK8) Reports To: Principal St. Marys School Mission: Inspired by St. Mary and rooted in our Catholic faith, St. Marys School fosters spiritual development, academic excellence, responsibility to self, and service to others, in order that the Gospel of Christ may be known in the world.Position Summary:St. Marys School is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated Second Grade Teacher to join our Catholic school community. This position plays an important role in providing engaging, standards-based instruction while intentionally forming students in their Catholic faith. The Second Grade Teacher will create a Christ-centered, nurturing classroom environment that supports academic growth, spiritual development, and preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, including coordination of a meaningful retreat experience.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction across all subject areas aligned with grade-level standards
• Foster a classroom environment rooted in Catholic identity, prayer, and Gospel values
• Prepare students for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in collaboration with parish staff and school leadership
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and sacramental preparation
• Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Establish a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, volunteers, and parish partners
• Participate in school liturgies, faith formation opportunities, professional development, and community events Qualified candidates will:
• Bachelors degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification.
• Experience teaching elementary education is preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• A willingness to support and participate in the mission and faith life of St. Marys Catholic School in daily classroom practice.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St. Marys School
• Model Gospel values in interactions with students, families, and colleagues
• Possess strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
