The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Second In Charge (2IC) to join our Maroubra Medical Centre on a fixed full-time 6-month contract .

In this hands-on leadership role, you will support the Practice Manager with the day-to-day operations of a busy medical centre while helping to lead the reception team and ensure an exceptional experience for patients, practitioners, and staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Practice Manager with the daily operations of the medical centre
• Assist with leading, mentoring, and supporting the reception team
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and visitors
• Manage patient bookings, enquiries, and front desk activities
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Complete administrative and reception tasks as required
• Build positive relationships with patients, practitioners, and colleagues
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements
• Assist with staff onboarding, training, and performance support

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team leader experience
• Strong customer service skills with a patient-focused approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• High attention to detail
• Confidence using computer systems, with Pracsoft or Best Practice experience highly regarded
• A proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative and ownership
• Professional presentation and a positive, can-do approach
