We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Second in Charge Playworker to join our vibrant childcare team within a breakfast, afterschool and holiday club. In this pivotal role, you will support the Senior Playworker in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. Duties

• Assist the Senior Playworker in planning and delivering fun, educational activities tailored to children's interests and developmental needs
• Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Support the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures to protect children from harm
• Help maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming play environment
• Engage with children using effective communication skills.
• Contribute to team meetings
• Step into leadership roles when required, guiding the team or volunteers in daily activities

Qualifications

• Proven experience in childcare, or teaching roles with a genuine passion for working with children
• Strong understanding of child development principles and safeguarding protocols
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to multitask effectively and remain energetic throughout busy periods
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Prior experience with child-focused activities or educational programs is desirable

Pay: £12.81-£12.97 per hour
