SECOND SHIFT CNC LEAD

Responsibilities

• MUST HAVE 2 YEARS CNC MACHINING EXPERIENCE
• Lead and coordinate the daily operations of CNC machining during the second shift, ensuring production targets are met with precision and efficiency
• Oversee machine setup, calibration, and tooling changes on CNC lathes and milling machines, including Fanuc controls and other automation systems
• Develop, review, and modify CNC programs using G-code and M-code to optimize machining processes for complex components
• Perform detailed blueprint reading and mechanical interpretation to accurately set up parts for manufacturing
• Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part quality
• Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programming, or machine operation; implement corrective actions promptly
• Mentor and support team members in manual machining techniques, CNC programming best practices, and safety procedures
• Ensure compliance with lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency

Requirements

• Proven experience in CNC machining with a strong understanding of CNC G-code programming using Fanuc or similar controllers
• Proficiency in CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming software and SolidWorks for part design review and setup planning
• Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications
• Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), grinding processes, and tooling selection for precision metalworking
• Familiarity with machining tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and manual machining equipment
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately using measurement instruments like micrometers and bore gauges
• Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of metal properties, manufacturing processes, and machine setup procedures
• Strong math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and dimensions
• Excellent leadership skills to guide a team effectively during the second shift while maintaining safety standards

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
