You'll contribute to complex substation, transmission and utility projects while collaborating with highly regarded specialists across electrical, power systems and renewable energy disciplines.
Whether you're an emerging engineer looking to broaden your project exposure or an experienced professional seeking greater technical ownership, this role offers the chance to work on nationally significant infrastructure that will shape the future of the energy sector.
The Role
As a key member of the secondary engineering team, you'll be responsible for the design and delivery of protection, control and communication systems across a range of high-voltage projects.
You'll work closely with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop practical, fit-for-purpose solutions from concept design through to detailed delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver secondary design solutions for HV and EHV transmission and distribution projects.
- Develop protection and control philosophies, schematics and associated design documentation.
- Prepare technical reports, equipment specifications, cable schedules and design deliverables.
- Coordinate with primary, SCADA, power systems and civil design teams throughout project execution.
- Support feasibility studies, detailed design packages and design reviews.
- Contribute to renewable energy, substation and network augmentation projects.
- Assist with technical due diligence and owner's engineer assignments.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.
About You
We're interested in speaking with engineers who are passionate about power systems and infrastructure and who enjoy solving complex technical challenges.
You'll ideally bring:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working on transmission, distribution or substation projects.
- Strong knowledge of secondary systems including protection, control, SCADA and AC/DC auxiliary systems.
- Exposure to HV or EHV infrastructure projects.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical reports and design documentation.
- Knowledge of IEC61850 and digital substation technologies is highly regarded.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Professional registration, or a pathway toward registration, will be viewed favourably.
What's in It for You?
- Work on high-profile energy and utility infrastructure projects.
- Join a collaborative team of recognised industry specialists.
- Exposure to renewable energy, transmission and grid-modernisation projects.
- Genuine opportunities for technical growth and career progression.
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
- Supportive leadership and ongoing professional development.
- Competitive salary package aligned to experience.
If you're looking to play a meaningful role in Australia's evolving energy landscape, we'd love to hear from you.
