Section Manager – Production (Exhaust)

About the role

Section Manager – Production (Exhaust) responsible for managing and controlling the production processes of the Exhaust department in accordance with production plans, quality targets, costs, and delivery schedules. The role involves overseeing Cutting, Bending, Welding, Assembly, and Inspection processes to meet standards, planning and managing Manpower, Machine, Material, and Production Capacity aligned with production plans, and monitoring Production KPI, Productivity, Efficiency, OEE, Yield, and Scrap.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and control production processes of the Exhaust department according to production plans, quality targets, costs, and delivery schedules
• Control Cutting, Bending, Welding, Assembly, and Inspection processes to meet standards
• Plan and manage Manpower, Machine, Material, and Production Capacity appropriately with production plans
• Monitor and analyse Production KPI, Productivity, Efficiency, OEE, Yield, and Scrap
• Analyse and resolve production process issues such as Welding Defect, Dimensional Issue, Leakage, Material Shortage, and Machine Downtime
• Implement process improvements using Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5 Why, and Root Cause Analysis
• Control and develop work standards such as WI, Standard Work, and Control Plan
• Manage and develop team including Supervisor, Leader, and Operator to meet targets
• Coordinate with QA, Engineering, Maintenance, PPC, and Warehouse to resolve issues and improve production efficiency
• Control production processes in compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, support Internal/External Audit, and track NC/CAR corrections
• Control Safety, 5S, and environmental standards within the production area
• Prepare production reports, analyse problems, and present improvement recommendations to management

About you

• 5–8 years of experience in Production/Manufacturing in the Automotive industry
• 2–3 years or more experience at Section Manager, Production Manager, Assistant Manager, or Production Supervisor level
• Experience in Welding, Tube Bending, Press, Assembly, and Automotive Parts Manufacturing
• Experience managing teams and controlling workforce in production lines
• Experience in Productivity Improvement, Cost Reduction, OEE, and Quality Improvement
• Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and Audit is considered a plus
• Direct experience in Exhaust System, Exhaust Pipe, or Muffler manufacturing processes is considered a plus
