About Apollo Security
Apollo Security is a growing security and event services company in the Southeast. We are part of the Apollo family of companies, which supports stadiums, arenas, convention centers, speedways and championship events across the country. We are known for two things: officers trained beyond state minimums, and leaders who show up. Our President is regularly on site at client events, and we hire managers who lead the same way.
We are opening a new Birmingham operation to support a multi-venue convention, sports and entertainment complex downtown. The campus includes a stadium, an arena, exhibit halls, a concert hall and theater, and outdoor event spaces. It hosts more than 200 events a year, with staffing calls from 15 to 450 people and up to 700 across overlapping events. We are looking for the Account Manager who will own it.
The Role
You will be the client's single point of contact for the entire property, responsible for performance, training, billing and planning. This role is on site, hands-on and visible. You will lead a full-time Event Staffing Manager, a team of Event Supervisors, and a large part-time workforce of security, ticketing, usher and guest services staff. You will report to our Vice President of Southeast Operations.
This is not a desk job. On event days, you will be in the command post and walking the concourses.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the main contact for venue leadership, attending every planning meeting and building a long-term partnership
- Turn client work orders into staffing plans, then work with your Event Staffing Manager to fill every approved position
- Run event-day operations from the command post alongside venue Public Safety, police, fire and EMS
- Lead overlapping events across multiple venues under a single command structure
- Deliver the monthly performance and guest service report. We report to clients in numbers, not adjectives.
- Own billing accuracy. Every invoice is reconciled to geofenced time records and the approved schedule.
- Uphold our Ambassador standard: greet every guest within reach, never say "I don't know," fix the problem, then follow up
- Coach supervisors in real time, recognizing great service on the spot and correcting issues before guests notice
- Make sure every employee is licensed, trained and in uniform before they take a post
- Help build the Birmingham operation from the ground up, including hiring, training rollout, post orders and site-specific procedures
What You Bring
- 5+ years managing event security, crowd management or venue staffing, including arena, stadium or convention center operations
- Experience managing large, multi-venue accounts, including staffing plans, budgets, billing and client reporting
- Confidence leading meetings with venue directors, show managers and promoters
- Calm, decisive leadership in high-volume, fast-changing environments
- Comfort with scheduling, incident reporting and time-and-attendance software (we use eHub and Lighthouse and will train you)
- Willingness to be reachable 24/7 and to work the nights, weekends and holidays that live events require
- High school diploma or GED required; a degree in criminal justice, hospitality, business or event management is a plus
Licensing & Certifications
- Alabama security officer license, or the ability to obtain one (Apollo provides the training and files the application)
- First Aid, CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed certification, or willingness to certify before start (Apollo provides)
- Must pass a background check (7-year criminal history, no felonies, no misdemeanors involving theft, dishonesty or violence), a 16-panel drug screen and E-Verify
Why Apollo
- Leadership that shows up. Executives are on site for major events, not just on the phone.
- Real investment in people. We train and certify staff at every level, from entry-level officers to senior managers.
- Room to grow. Apollo is expanding across the Southeast, and leaders who build strong accounts move up.
- A family-style culture. We believe taking care of our people is how we take care of our clients.
- Benefits: health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k), vehicle or phone allowance.
How to Apply
Apply through Indeed with your resume. Tell us about the largest event or multi-venue operation you have led. Qualified candidates will interview with Apollo executive leadership.
