What they need

Parasol Alliance is a technology solutions company exclusively serving the senior living industry. We provide leadership and comprehensive in-house technology support, helping our clients make smart strategic technology investments and effectively use technology to achieve their business objectives.

Our strategic focus forms the core of Parasol Partnerships. These partnerships lead to increased efficiency, productivity, and profitability for our clients. We make our clients more successful – and we have the data to prove it.

Leadership defines us. We are innovative leaders in everything we do.

The Security Administrator is responsible and accountable for the management of Parasol Alliance's Managed Security Services program and other security related support. This position ensures that assigned MSSP clients receive contracted security services on schedule and in accordance with established security standards.

Contracted services currently include end-user awareness testing and training, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, HIPAA/PCI security auditing, and MDR/SIEM deployment and oversight. The Security Administrator works closely with all departments to ensure security standards are met and maintained, both within internal Parasol Alliance systems and across all client environments.

The Security Administrator serves as a primary security authority within Parasol Alliance's MSSP practice, driving proactive vulnerability management, security auditing, cross-departmental standards alignment, and the consistent delivery of high-quality security services to all MSSP clients.

Position Mission

The Security Administrator position helps with management of the Parasol Managed Security Services program, spanning service delivery, vulnerability research and response, security governance development, routine auditing, and cross-departmental collaboration. The Security Administrator partners with the Security Manager and all internal departments to ensure that security standards are documented, enforced, and continuously improved.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and delivers all primary Managed Security Services to MSSP clients, currently including penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, phishing campaigns, MDR/SIEM and HIPAA/PCI security auditing.
  • Administrates future Email filters, DNS filters, EDR platforms, and other security systems as assigned
  • Advises on Security best practices for clients and other Parasol Alliance teams.
  • Contributes to and at time leads initial research and response planning for newly discovered vulnerabilities affecting client environments.
  • Collaborates with all departments to establish, update, and enforce security standards across internal and client environments.
  • Ensures all security standards are documented and centrally accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Work requires deep technical security expertise, strong organizational and project management skills, and excellent client communication skills — balancing proactive security management with reactive vulnerability response.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and self-structured; the right candidate will be driven to be challenged and to succeed, managing a complex security services program with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking with a consistent focus on security program efficiency, process improvement, and the delivery of high-quality security outcomes for MSSP clients.
  • Communicates effectively across all organizational levels — translating complex security concepts into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively collaborate across departments to achieve shared security goals, building influence and driving standards adherence without direct authority.
  • Champions Parasol Alliance's values of Integrity, Collaboration, Expertise, and Empathy in all security decisions and cross-functional interactions.
  • Operates in a fully remote work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of technical certifications and relevant experience will be considered.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Relevant security certifications strongly preferred (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CISSP, CEH, CISM, OSCP).
  • HIPAA security-specific training or certification is a significant plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Minimum of five (3) years of experience working with servers, network infrastructure, SaaS tools, and workstations
  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering managed security services, penetration testing, phishing simulations, and/or security auditing programs.
  • Experience with HIPAA security requirements strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a managed services provider (MSP) or MSSP environment strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare or senior living experience preferred; long-term care support experience is a plus.

Additional Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with security awareness training platforms (e.g., KnowBe4, Proofpoint Security Awareness, other similar systems)
  • Experience with penetration testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Metasploit, Nessus, Burp Suite, or similar).

Position Expectations

Within the first 30 days:

  • Learn and adhere to all established policies and standards as defined in The Culture File.
  • Learn and begin leveraging all MSSP tools and systems used for security service delivery, tracking, and reporting.
  • Complete introductory meetings with all relevant departments to understand current security standards, processes, and outstanding gaps.
  • Review all existing Managed Security Services documentation, client agreements, and audit schedules.
  • Complete all required onboarding training and orientation meetings with the Security Manager.

Within the first 60 days:

  • Demonstrate competency in all role responsibilities based on established position metrics.
  • Establish and complete the first round of security audits in accordance with the audit schedule.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing and delivering all contracted MSSP security services on schedule.
  • Present any recommended process improvements to the Security Manager.

Within the first 90 days:

  • Achieve or demonstrate clear trajectory toward all defined position metrics across all service delivery categories.
  • Have established strong working relationships with all department leads for cross-functional security standards collaboration.
  • Demonstrate full proficiency in all MSSP tools, security services, policies, and audit processes within the scope of the role.
